How much does it cost?

I offer a range of services at several price points, which I can discuss with you. Most couples select the Deluxe Package, at $1,500, which includes an in-person planning session; custom ceremony design; coordination with your photographer, DJ, florist, and other professionals; a rehearsal; and day-of officiating and filing of the paperwork. Contact me and let’s talk about your vision and your budget.

Is the rehearsal included?

Oh, yes! I believe the run-through is very important. We usually do this the day before the wedding. It’s a logistical rehearsal, but some couples like to practice their vows (privately) so they don’t feel nervous the next day.

What if our venue is not in Columbus?

No worries! I marry couples throughout Central Ohio, and I can travel outside of that perimeter as well.

Do we get to see our ceremony beforehand?

Of course! In fact, you will get several opportunities to read it and provide any edits you would like. I will always make these changes, because the ceremony is about YOU.

Do you have to mention God?

Nothing in your ceremony is determined beforehand. Most of my ceremonies are secular, and they may honor God, or the Universe, include spiritual nature elements, or say nothing at all about any higher power.

Do we have to write our own vows?

Only if you want to. This is something we can decide as we begin to work together. I provide lots of support to walk you through it, if it’s something that speaks to your heart.

Do you perform same-sex marriages?

Absolutely! In fact, that’s what inspired me to start marrying people in the first place. My first ceremony joined two of my very good friends.

How long is one of your ceremonies?

That depends on what’s included. A typical ceremony is a half-hour, but it can be longer.

What if something happens and you can’t get to the wedding?

Don’t worry. I am linked with other professionals who can take the reins. I’ve got you covered. But such situations are extremely rare.

Will you help us get everything ready for the ceremony on our wedding day?

Yes! This is part of my services. I coordinate with the other professionals involved in your ceremony, so they know all the cues and can get the best pictures. I procure any supplies needed for the ceremony and make sure the space is ready. I also spend a few quiet moments with each of you to get emotionally centered before we begin the ceremony.

Where did you get your training?

I have a certificate in Life-Cycle Celebrancy from the Celebrant Foundation and Institute in Montclair, N.J. This rigorous training reviews the role of ritual and ceremony throughout human history. It requires observations, mentoring, a speaking evaluation, and creation of a formal ceremony. I continue to learn about the Art of Ceremony and have a wide network of professional colleagues. Before becoming a Celebrant, I was a professional writer, including working as a journalist, for two decades. I enjoy storytelling on various stages in Columbus, and I am an active member of Toastmasters International.

How much does it cost?

I don’t use “packages” because I know that every couple is different, and I want you to feel unrestricted.  Instead, I talk to you about your vision for the ceremony and learn more about your story, the scope of your entire day, and then present you with options to fit that vision.
